We can all agree that every day more women are claiming their space in entrepreneurship and, in my opinion, that is one of the bravest things a woman could do for herself because once you’re in the game all your triggers come to light and leading yourself through it is an act of bravery... and it's what I call the shadow work for female entrepreneurs.
When I started my international healing business, I had no idea what I was signing up for. I thought I would just share my gifts with the world, magic would happen and I would be happy forever.
I honestly had no idea of the work and mindset behind it and as much as it's said about taking action when your mindset is not in the right place, the actions will always feel harder than what it actually has to be.
A lot is said about quick success in social media but not much is said about the behind-the-scenes of what it actually takes to be a successful female entrepreneur.
The not-enoughness, imposter syndrome, comparison, fear of rejection, money beliefs and lack of self-confidence are real and are energy-consuming.
The "not being there yet", the frustration when things don't go to plan (which happens often) and the ability to keep going when you have no certainty whatsoever of how things are going to turn out.
Entrepreneurship is a self-mastery art. Is a road through shadow to meet the light.
The voices in our minds get louder and it sounds like: “Can I do this? Are people going to buy from me? Is my service good enough? What are people going to think of me if I show up this way? Am I doing this right? Am I crazy? Maybe I am charging too much. Maybe business is not for me”.
I doubt a woman who never had those thoughts in her mind and second-guessed herself. So just know, you are not alone!
I had the devil in my ears for a long time and was invited to look at it because ignoring and resisting just gave more power to it. Now I became the “devil” to my devil and she is scared as hell of me and thinks twice before opening her dirty mouth to say anything about what I am doing or am capable of.
Unfortunately, is very common for us, female entrepreneurs to beat ourselves up and think that we should have done better or know better and this can end in blaming and shaming ourselves for “mistakes” and “failures”. There is a fine line between acknowledging room for improvement and turning failure into identity, into who we think we are.
One of the reasons that can happen is because most of us, in business, are treating ourselves in the same way we were treated while growing up, with pressure and the need to be perfect. Some unconscious beliefs could be saying “do better”, “be a good girl”, “don’t be too much”, “don’t take up space”, “don’t be so ambitious”, “don’t be greedy”, “be grateful”, “you can not have it all”, "this is not good enough".
And truth being said, It gets to a point where we need to let go of the voices in our head because they become too much to carry and there is no room for success when self-doubt and the need for validation is the leading energy in our businesses.
It gets to a point where you need to choose between your mind’s voice or your authentic voice and truth.
Between people's opinions about you or your own opinion about yourself.
Is either you knowing your value or letting your customers tell you how much you are worth.
Is either having boundaries or letting people take advantage of you and your expertise.
Is either you trusting yourself to make it happen or letting the gurus and experts tell you how you should run your own dam business.
They are not easy decisions to make and when a woman chooses herself and her vision every day despite it all, is when she becomes the most powerful she could ever be, she becomes unstoppable and I call tell, she will make noise and you will hear a lot about her because she is in the game to win.
